“I was born and raised overseas with influence from Europe, Africa, Central and South America. The privilege of being able to experience different lifestyles was the greatest gift I received from my childhood. Life was simple yet exciting! My personal character was built by living in different cultures and I learned quickly to make the small things count. I married my high school sweetheart who was born in Australia and raised overseas as well. We reside with our 2 adult kids in the Dallas Fort Worth area after being married for 27 years.
I was an Office Manager/Event Planner for 10 years for an international software company until I had my children. I then had the blessing of being a “stay at home mom” with them as they grew up. It was the most rewarding and most challenging job EVER! It definitely taught me the most about myself.”
“Your smile is your logo, your personality is your business card, how you leave others feeling after they have had an experience with you, becomes your trademark.” -Zig Ziglar
Ruthie Staalsen Interiors was launched in 2002 after my kids started school. We began with “using what you have” and “one day” decorating and it quickly led into a full service design business. I had remodeled and decorated our homes as well as friends’ homes for many years and had collected a substantial portfolio of my work. I had also been the author of my decorating blog prior to the business launch. I went back to school to became certified in Interior Decorating and immediately started taking on new clients. Most of my clients are referrals which is what I LOVE.
“God is the giver of gifts, it is up to me to use those gifts to serve Him.” -Ruthie Staalsen
In my spare time, you will still find me traveling the world for inspiration. I enjoy being on the back of my hubby’s motorcycle, camping with my family (if you call an RV camping?), cruising in our antique TR6 sports car, entertaining, hosting events, painting in my workshop, antique shopping, scouring local flea markets and serving coffee with my family at church. I’m also passionate about social media so follow me so you can see behind the scenes of a designer. It’s non-stop hard work and fun.”
