A "Retreat" Before and After Master Bedroom

What a fun master bedroom makeover this was!  This client had just purchased their new king bed and bedding and wanted to incorporate these newly purchased items into the design plan.  I love when I get a challenge like that.  She loves warm and cool colors so my goal was to marry the two and come up with a "retreat" feel in their beautiful master bedroom.
BEFORE
Pretty boring...that's why my client called me!
AFTER
Very fresh and warm at the same time!

AFTER
A fresh new color on the walls and ceiling, new Euro shams, patterened sheets, throw pillows, throw, lamps, rug and wall accessories.
The rug really pulled everything together!
Notice how well the pattern goes with the wall art above the bed. Every room has to have items that tie things together.
This artwork was created by a local artist.  I had her create something that united all the colors together and added some whimsy to the room.
BEFORE
My client said that her kids love to sit in the window to watch tv.
AFTER
We created this seat cushion for them so now they will be comfy!  The roman shades are "blackout" so naps in the middle of the day are possible.  The fabric matches the euro shams on the bed.
We created a little seating area in the corner for them to enjoy too.  A great reading spot.  I added all their family photo's above the couch.  It became a beautiful gallery for them to enjoy!

Master Bedroom almost complete!

BEFORE
I'm working really hard this week trying to finish off all the loose ends so we can do the install this Friday for the above master bedroom.
BEFORE
I'm really excited about it all coming together and it's going to be such a retreat for my clients.  We have a conservative budget so we are "using what the client has" and incorporating lots of new items to this room.  It will be fun for you to see how we make changes to a space using old and new pieces.   I bet you are curious now!  I'll post pictures on Friday night or Saturday so you can see the DRAMATIC difference!
Remember....this picture below was our inspiration as far as the color scheme and the overall feel of the room.   Click here to read previous blog post about this room.

Every room needs an inspiration!

We are in the middle of a master bedroom "face lift" this week. I thought I'd share some of the fabrics, colors, accessories that we are using in the space.
After talking with my client and hearing what they wanted their room to look like, I dug this photo out of my collection of "favorites" and thought it best resembled what they described they really wanted.
(I wish I knew who to credit here?  Anyone know?)
I love having an inspiration photo to start working with.  I showed this picture to my client along with a full design presentation and they loved it.  We are doing some things differently  but the "overall" feel of the room and the colors will be the same as the INSPIRATION PHOTO.

The wallpaper for the headboard wall is getting installed today.

This fabric will be for the Draperies.

The walls have been painted this wonderful blue seen in the fabric and it is to die for!!  So soothing and relaxing.  Sherman Williams - Watery

This stripe is for the bed skirt.

Don't you love these lamps?
I spoke with an artist today and she is creating a painting for me with the above colors.  You know how I love original art and love to support our local artists.

This rug will bring the whole room together and the bedspread and sheets are still being chosen.
I'm really excited about putting all these items together in the space.  It's such a fun process!
We are gutting their hall bathroom this week too so I'll post pictures of that in another post.
