Proud of my client!

I love my "Walk-Thru" consultations because they get my clients so excited about implementing my ideas.

I received this picture this morning from a client that I've had several "walk-thru's" with and she said "look, I did it".  So much fun to see ideas implemented.  She painted these wonderful white stripes in her hallway and it immediately lightened it up and made it fun and happy.  Awesome job Colleen!

She also painted all her interior doors black like I suggested (see above).
It's a great look for her style!

As we speak, she's covered in "chalk paint".  I suggested that since she loved her rug in her kitchen so much, why not paint the chairs this bright yellow (like the cushion above) to make it have a bold, beautiful statement in her wonderful bright kitchen.  She's selecting her granite slab this week too.

She is beside herself with excitement and that makes me LOVE my job!

If you have had a "Walk-Thru" consultation with me and have implemented my ideas, please send me pictures, I LOVE THAT!  I might even write about YOU.

Heart LOVE

This week is a the week where we see lots of pink, red and hearts.

I loved this cute tissue paper heart!  Fun for kids to make and I would actually hang this up it's so adorable.  I'm not much of a heart girl.  Don't usually wear heart jewelry and don't usually decorate with pink and red either.  However, the below images made me think that I could maybe incorporate hearts into my home during the month of LOVE.

Beautiful rustic heart with my favorite flowers.

I'm crazy about this rustic driftwood heart! Aren't you?

A set of heart mercury glass vases I could LOVE.  Especially combined with the old chair that has such a great patina.

Canvas heart with faded writing is cool.

Heart necklace anyone?  I wouldn't wear this but I would maybe frame it!

I could live with this heart ivy trellis.

A burlap wreath is something that is easy to make and looks charming.

I made this little heart this weekend with my girls.  Michael's has some wonderful embellishments and a lot to choose from, I was surprised by their selections.

Hope your week is filled with love from all those that you love.

Hope you are treated with loads of love this Valentines Day!

Repurposed and Renewed

I've been so busy this week during the evenings preparing the decor for a Woman's Retreat for our church.  The theme is "all things new" so you know I'm having so much fun with that!

I'll be posting pictures of before and afters once the Retreat is over :)  Don't want to spoil the surprise for all the ladies attending. Above are just a few sneak peeks into some of the items I'm re- purposing.

I'll be giving this sconce away at the Retreat to some lucky winner.  It use to be white!

I've been stopping in at every thrift store in the metroplex in between appointments.
My car looks like this every day!

and my garage looks like this!  These are all BEFORES

I've had some wonderful volunteers who have been spray painting like crazy!

Here's a sneak peek into one of the finished things!

On another note, I've been working on my "ONE by ONE" furniture that is being repainted and reupholstered (not by me).  I hope to have them ready soon!

Here are a few items in their BEFORE state.

Have a fabulous weekend and hope you get RENEWED for the week!

Framed Antique Graphics

I found 2 of these frames (below) about a year ago at an estate sale.  Sadly, they have been sitting in my closet for all this time waiting for me to do something wonderful with them.

The other day I came across an Etsy store Antique Graphique that has amazing vintage graphics that you can purchase for $1.00 each.  You can then print and use them for paper crafts, transfers, pillows, etc.  The owner of this store is a graphic designer and photographer.  She collects old images from magazines and books and she has over 200 amazing ones to choose from.

I loved this chandelier!

So I purchased several, printed the graphic on nice linen paper and then put them in these "shabby chic" frames.

I purchased several graphics that I'll use for other projects too.  Did you know that you can purchase burlap fabric sheets that can go in your printer here.  They look fantastic with these images printed on them!  They make great luggage tags, cards, etc. too!

Just think what you could do with decopouge! You could  Modge Podge these onto hat boxes and so much more!

I'd love this image one on a T-shirt!

You can also purchase canvas paper here that you can put in your inkjet printer and click "print".  An instant project finished!

Hope you are inspired to do some printing and framing :)  These make great gifts!

Would you stay at my Bed and Breakfast?

As some of you know, one of my dreams is to own a Bed and Breakfast.  It's a dream of mine that I've had for a long time.  Not sure if it will ever become a reality but it's fun to dream.  I love charming homes all the way from an English cottages to a rustic cabin in the woods.  I thought you might like to dream a little with me.... ready?  Let's go!
So Romantic!  I'd like to spend Valentines Day in this little cabin.  I imagine enjoying this front porch for my coffee as well as in the evening with the one I love.  Perfect place for men and woman because the men could fish in this little pond while the woman read on the front porch.
This North Carolina home looks incredibly inviting.
Not sure if I'd want the property to be perfectly manicured?
Or quaint, wild and free?
 Adore these wild flowers.

If I could pick the house I'd want for my bed and breakfast, this one above would be the one I would choose in a heartbeat.   Seriously gorgeous!

A courtyard would be a must.
I've always loved windows that open so put that on my list of "wants".
A thatched roof and a cute little picket fence gate would be nice!

Of course, every bed and breakfast has to have climbing roses.

Beautiful gardens to serve tea and coffee and a place to have Happy Hour!
I grew up in a house like this one when we lived in South Africa so I think that's why I love it!
Imagine taking a leisurely walk through this property?
A cute little town like this one to walk to so I could buy my bread and weekly goodies is on my priority list too.
My bed and breakfast wouldn't have a sign like this one.  It would say
"WELCOME, COME STAY A WHILE."
Every courtyard needs a water feature too.

Of course, I can't run a bed and breakfast myself.  My husband has to be on board too because he's the cook!  I think this rustic cabin would be his first choice. I'd go for it!
I'd love to make each bedroom romantic and quaint with loads of sophistication and comfort.  I don't like too much fuss and would want the men to feel like they weren't in a froo froo room.
I think my guests would be happy to sleep in these rooms.

For the woman that come with their girlfriends, I think they would enjoy these rooms.

Thanks for dreaming a little dream with me!  I'm hoping one day it will become a reality.

I'm dreaming big this year!
